MEET TOM CANDIDATE FOR COUNTY COUNCIL DIST.4
I'm running for County Council in Dist 4 because of the many problems in our county. Over congestion on our roads, higher taxs , higher fees, high energy costs, increased construction with poor infrastructure. We spend millions on educating our children and yet according to AAC state test scores, 74% of students are below proficiency in math and 51% below in reading.
The county/dist is willing to give up a great resourse for Scouting and 4H clubs at the Dairy Farm in Odenton, and turn it into a costly solar farm that wont solve our energy problems in Maryland. We need to convert the present coal fired power plants to clean gas fired plants.
According to the Baltimore Banner, over 200,000 tax paying Marylanders left Maryland in 2023 and now with the increase of taxs and fees like the IT tax , many businesses are leaving. We are surrounded by 4 states, Penn, Del., West Virg., and Virginia, all with a mega million budget surplus, while Maryland has a 3 $billion deficit. As a successful business man doing business in a state with high taxs, fees, and audits, I know how to balance a budget, and still provide the goods and services my customers need.
